William Scott here. My story is pretty simple. My dad took me to Arlington Park
Race Track in Chicago IL when I was 14 years old. He gave me two dollars a race
to bet and told me I could keep any of the proceeds for myself. I bet the favorite
in the first race to show. A horse called Mr. Executioner. He won and the show payout
was $2.20. So far so good. I thought it was great. You give them money and they
give you more money back. I am also pretty sure that was the last show bet I ever
made. My wagers naturally progressed to win and exotic betting once I began to realize
the risk vs. reward theory.
On the last day of September in 1995, I hit my first pick 6 at
Turfway Park for $89,959.40. I bet a total of $200.00 worth of combinations that
day and my side bets and consolation money brought in a total of $92,600.00. Not
a bad ROI for a couple hours work on a Saturday. In 2008 I quit working for the
man and began focusing on the races full time for my income.
I eventually realized that pick 6s are too hard to hit and pick
3s usually do not pay as much so I settled in on pick 4s as they are easy enough
for me to hit and they still pay well. In 2008, I got three friends together for
Kentucky Derby day and we each put up $100.00 for the late pick 4. We hit it (Thank
you Big Brown) and it paid $7,336.00. More people wanted in for 2009 and we hit
the pick 4 and hit again for $20,442.30 (Thank you Mine that Bird). At that point
everyone wanted a piece of the action. Nothing was done in 2010 due to the death
of my mother.
For 2011 I set up this web site so I could have a place to direct
people who want to win what I win. As long as you are willing to bet what I bet,
you will.
